September 4: Charles Pecaro, 42, Highwood mayor, was charged with DUI in Highland Park. He was stopped by police for driving without headlights when required and following too closely.

July 6: Douglas Millsaps, 48, was found guilty by Kane County Judge Bruce Lester after a bench trial. This was the defendant’s second DUI conviction. At the time of his arrest in 2009, the defendant was the football coach at Rolling Meadows High School. While he no longer serves as coach, he is still employed by the school district. The defendant was found asleep in his car in Geneva. He stated he parked near his girlfriend’s residence to talk to her after an argument at a bar earlier in the evening. The defendant was placed on probation, ordered to serve 240 hours of public service work and ordered not to consume alcohol while on probation. The case was handled by Assistant State’s Attorney Brad Hauge.
